The Jute industry has shown good growth in the last few years despite several negative factors like the pandemic. The upsurge in demand for products like Jute Shopping Bags by global retail giants Lec Lerc and Muji has been tremendous.
The Jute Products Development & Export Promotion Council (JPDEPC) is playing an important role in marketing and promoting jute and jute diversified products through various events and workshops.

It is my honour to head this Council and contribute to the growth of the jute industry.

Our mega exhibition of jute products, JUTEXPO organised in Kolkata has become an important destination for buyers for their purchases of Jute Products. Prominent buyers from across the globe visit and meet quality Indian manufacturers.

This year the Council has launched a web portal named JutePromo. This online portal will give buyers and sellers of jute products, another opportunity to interact and transact business round the year. I invite everyone to make best use of this portal in generating more business for themselves and the country. With pandemic changing the way we work and transact, digitalisation has become a more integral part of business.
